As vice president and regional sales manager for the Eastern Canada region, Bassam El-Chami leads a skilled team of estate planning specialists who support advisors and wealth planning services across Ottawa, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. His disciplined approach is based on an in-depth understanding of the market, expertise in financial planning and an ability to anticipate the needs of an ever-changing environment.
With almost three decades of experience in the financial services industry, including roles as a financial planner and investment advisor, Bassam has distinguished himself through his leadership, strategic vision and commitment to clients. His work with banks, national accounts, and MGA partners has given him insight into various business models. This experience has also strengthened his belief in an integrated approach to wealth management and the importance of collaboration across teams and disciplines.
Bassam is also an advocate for clients, advisors and the insurance industry. He is a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and serves as a director on the board of the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage (CAILBA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from HEC Montréal and an MBA in Financial Services from UQAM.
Bassam and his wife live in Montreal with their two energetic sons. He values teamwork in all areas of his life and enjoys playing basketball, volleyball and soccer. He is also an avid Formula 1 fan.
