    As vice president and head of national insurance business operations, Kornelija Podstreleni works closely with senior management to develop strategies and implement policies that align with the organization’s values and vision. She is responsible for overseeing and improving day-to-day operational functions, with an emphasis on accountability, consistency and ensuring the business continues to operate effectively as it grows.

    With more than two decades of experience at RBC across operations, management and training, Kornelija has developed a strong understanding of how policies and processes function once they leave the page and enter actual use. By ensuring operational practices are implemented as intended, she builds confidence among advisors and fosters strong relationships with insurance carriers and other external partners. Her background in developing and delivering implementation solutions for business initiatives has shaped a leadership approach grounded in collaboration, effective use of digital tools and follow-through.

    Kornelija is an active member of industry organizations, including the Canadian Life Insurance EDI Standards (CLIEDIS) and the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (CAILBA), where she contributes to advancing digital and technology capabilities. She also participates in RBC EmpowerHer and the RBC TRIEC National Mentoring Program, supporting diversity, inclusion and newcomer success. She holds a diploma in accounting and finance from Seneca College and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.

    Outside of work, Kornelija enjoys fitness and dancing—interests that reflect the discipline, focus and adaptability she brings to her professional life.
