As vice president and regional sales manager, Mario J. da Silva leads the team of estate planning specialists who support advisors and wealth management services in the British Columbia, Alberta and Prairie regions. Having previously led the team in Eastern Canada, he understands the significant impact insurance planning has on our clients across the country.

Mario joined RBC in 2003 in the retail banking channel as an investment and retirement planner. A natural leader, he became the manager of investment and retirement planners in 2007, guiding his team to exceptional business results while cultivating exemplary partnering relationships across many RBC platforms. In 2011, Mario joined RBC Wealth Management Financial Services, where he assumed the leadership of the estate planning specialist team in Central and Eastern Canada.

Born in Toronto, Mario earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in 1995. Over the years, he acquired industry designations, including the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). In 2011, Mario completed his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.

An advocate for financial literacy, he has volunteered with Junior Achievement, taught personal finance in marriage classes within his community and tutored university students in finance. Mario and his wife have three children and enjoy country living just north of Toronto.
